01 The Challenge

Locked out of paid channels. Invisible inside AI ones.

This pet ecom brand sells a CBD-based calm range for pets across Spain, Ireland, Belgium, and Italy. It's a category Meta, Google, and TikTok Ads won't touch. The two biggest acquisition channels in e-commerce were closed before the brand even launched.

Organic search and word-of-mouth were doing all the work. Then 2025 happened. High-intent buyer questions like "natural calming product for anxious dogs" and "safe CBD treats for senior dogs" started getting answered directly inside ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, and Google AI Overviews. No click required.

Branded organic stayed healthy. Non-brand CTR dropped despite stable rankings. AI was answering the category's top questions, and the brand barely showed up in the sources it pulled from. For a brand that can't buy its way back in, that's existential. Not a marketing problem.
