Google Search Console (GSC)

How to connect Google Search Console to track your traditional SEO performance alongside AI Overviews.

Google Search Console (GSC) is the source of truth for your traditional organic search performance. By connecting GSC to RankZero, you can seamlessly compare your traditional SEO traffic against your new AI Overview visibility, giving you a complete picture of your search presence.

When connected to RankZero, your Dashboard automatically integrates GSC metrics to:

  • Layer organic search impressions alongside your AI Visibility metrics.
  • Provide intelligent keyword suggestions pulled directly from queries you are already starting to rank for in Google.
  • Help you discover low-hanging fruit where a small push in AI search could yield massive click-through rates.

🔗 Connecting Your Account

  1. Navigate to the Integrations page via the left-hand sidebar menu in RankZero.
  2. Under the Google Integration card, click Connect.
  3. You will be redirected to Google's secure OAuth flow.
  4. Log in using the Google Account that has Viewer (or higher) permissions for your brand's GSC Property.
  5. Crucial: Ensure that the checkbox for Search Console is checked. RankZero cannot pull your metrics without read-only access.
  6. Upon successful authorization, you will be redirected back to RankZero.

⚙️ Selecting the Right Property

Because a single Google Account can hold hundreds of websites, you must tell RankZero which property belongs to the active brand.

  1. Once connected, your Google account will show as Connected.
  2. Click on the dropdown menu next to Google Search Console.
  3. Select the exact URL property that matches the brand you are currently managing in RankZero (e.g., sc-domain:example.com or https://example.com/). If you don't see your property, ensure you are logged into the correct Google Account.
  4. Click Save Settings.

RankZero takes your data privacy seriously. We request ReadOnly (readonly) scopes from Google. We cannot edit, add, or delete your Google Search Console settings or sitemaps. Your OAuth tokens are encrypted at rest, and you can revoke access at any time from your Google Account settings.
